About On-Water
At On-Water we believe buying a boat should be as simple as buying a car...
On Water was founded in 2003 by David Mostyn and Matthew Gilder.
Our aim was to take much of the risk and uncertainty out of buying and selling boats by creating a helpful and informative website and devising the unique "Boat Buyer's Package".
We believe that a good brokerage will help customers decide on what boat is right for them and help them through the buying process, making everything as simple and easy as possible right up until the customer is confidently sailing their new boat.

In July 2003, On Water set up premises at Hartlepool Marina in a small office overlooking the Lock. Since then we have sold nearly 300 brokerage and new boats. Our high turnover of stock results in an ever changing display of boats for sale resulting in many satisfied customers, both buyers and sellers.
In January 2005, On Water set up a satellite office with Coates Marine of Whitby. We also have relationships with other boat brokers at Hull and Newcastle enabling us to offer a huge selection of boats in the North East.
And as of this year we are now able to offer, in conjunction with Amble Boat Company, new Beneteau Motor and Sail boats as well as a variety of boats from Wittey Marine.
Today Shaun Birrell runs the operations side of the business, supported by Larraine Colman who runs the administration of the office, the window displays and the websites. David is also involved in the operations side as well as managing other areas of the business.
